Abby says it's not polite to knit or crochet while attending a meeting or social gathering... What say you?
I say if it's a small meeting, yeah maybe. But if it's a huge conference room and you aren't bugging the person next to you and you can still pay attention and contribute then you are fine.

Personally? I think as long as it's something simple enough so you can pay attention and not so big that it's distracting to other people, it's fine. Especially if its one of those meetings where all you're doing is listening to someone else talk. But it depends a lot on the other people and circumstances. If your boss thinks it's rude, best not do it.
